Economiser

The heat carried by waste gases is in the form of both sensible heat (energy due to gas temperature) and latent heat (condensation energy). The heat exchanger units that recover the heat, that is carried by the waste gases and thrown into the atmosphere, by heating the required water are called Economisers.

Condensing Economizer

The heat exchanger units that recover both sensible heat and latent, that is carried by the waste gases and thrown into the atmosphere, by heating the required water are called Condensing Economizers. Significant amount of heat recovered in condensing economizers is achieved by condensation of water vapor discharged by waste gases. The direction of gas flow and condensing water discharge are therefore critical in system design.

Recuperator

The heat exchanger units that recover both sensible and latent heat, that is carried by the waste gases and thrown into the atmosphere, by heating the required air are called Recuperators. As both the fluids which are heat source and being heated are in gas form (air), the heat transfer surface and accordingly the device is larger relatively, therefore should be used as a heat recovery solution at more specific applications.
